Arjun is a 3rd generation main battle tank (MBT) indigenously developed by MBT for the Indian Army. It was formally inducted to Indian army in 2009. During field trial it performed better than Russian T-90 tanks.
It has BEL developed Integrated Fire Control System (IFCS), ballistic computer and gunner’s main sight. Powered by multi-fuel diesel engine of 1,400 hp, it can achieve a maximum speed of 70 km/h and a cross-country speed of 40 km/h.
