Many western historians have habitually post-dated Indian history. For example, Max Muller, who was a great Sanskrit scholar of his time, had dated the Vedas to around 1500 BCE. However, recent astronomical computations, metallurgical studies, and archaeological discoveries trace our Vedic roots back to at least 5000+ BCE.
